HumorTag is a humor festival where comedians perform without words, meaning there are no language barriers. Laughter is conveyed to the audience without language, through pantomime, physical slapstick, facial expressions, gestures, and clowning.
The kings of this genre of humor were Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Laurel and Hardy, and among modern ones, Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson).
Comedians from all over the world who have passed the preliminary selection are welcome to participate in the festival.
The preliminary selection is carried out by a special festival committee based on submitted videos with examples of the candidates' previous work.
1. By mid-summer of the current year, comedians/composites wishing to participate in the festival must submit videos with examples of their work to the festival committee for pre-selection.
2. Pre-selected groups or individuals will receive an invitation to participate in the festival with a new 5-10-minute program that has not previously been shown.
3. Groups and individuals must confirm and guarantee their participation.
4. To ensure the proper organization of the festival program, participants must arrive in Armenia no later than 10 days prior to the start of the performance.
5. Each comedian's performance will be evaluated by a panel of judges and audience members from around the world using an online scoring system.
6. Audience votes will be taken as the national average.
7. Jury votes and audience votes are not of equal weight.
8. The jury will include renowned comedians invited from countries that will support and ensure their citizens vote.
9. Viewer voting is subject to a fee, but the fee is small and affordable for anyone in any country.
10. The festival's revenue is generated primarily through:
- ticket sales for concerts, which can last 2-3 days.
- paid audience voting.
- licenses for broadcasting and selling concert materials.
